I had the wonderful opportunity to work with Jack Canfield, co-creator of the Chicken Soup for the Soul and the movie “The Secret” in Arizona for 7 days as well as some other most remarkable, inspiring people like Lisa Peck, Pete Winiarski, and Jennifer Wilkov.

I want to talk to you today about a fantastic artist whose dream was to have his art work recognized world wide. During the event he set the intention of being a full-time artist, placing his art cards on all the chairs in the room and present his artwork on stage in front of more than 420 people. Several days into the event he called his printer to see if his cards could be sent to the hotel by Saturday. First he was told no, they couldn’t get them there in time. He spoke with the manager and explained the situation and shared his goal. Together they came up with a plan and they were sent even a day early! His cards arrived, now the next goal was to get them stuffed with an important proposal for his next series of artwork. Short on time and only one day left he mentioned to someone of his need and they immediately gave him a helping hand and then continued to ask others to give a few minutes of their time to pull this together. They worked together quickly and together a few strangers made a great assembly team.

Mission accomplished!

Curry thought if the opportunity arises I need a presentation! He went to his room later that evening and worked through the night to build the Power Point slide show, just in case he was asked to present it. The following day before the conclusion of the event, surprisingly he was tapped on the shoulder by one of the Canfield leaders and asked if he had a presentation. Curry said “I sure do!” In no time at all he was presenting on stage to Jack Canfield and over 400 people. Wow! Can you believe it? He put himself out there and was open to the opportunities and possibilities before him and went for it! He breezed through his presentation like it had done it many times before (this was his first!). He seemed so relaxed and comfortable. The crowd was sitting at the edge of their seat.

Remember the vision of his work be recognized world wide? The audience represented people from 20 different countries, including Malaysia, the United Kingdom, Australia, etc.  Amazing how things come together. Better yet, funds were being raised to build wells in Africa . Curry stepped forward, opened his heart and offered to auction a piece of his artwork to help raise more funds. Many people were excited over the opening bid of $2,500. Two participants were in a bidding war that quickly raised the dollar amount to $6,000.

Curry made the bold decision to honor each bidder by donating not one but two pieces of his art work for $6,000 each! Now, a few people from the event are planning to have a grand opening art gallery event for him in New York in January.

He wants to highlight images of beautiful women who have historically been oppressed in the United States. It was amazing watching these dreams came true. The artist presenting his work and becoming world known, the two bidders each having the opportunity to own a beautiful piece of unique art work, those heading the project of the wells and Curry’s act of kindness now over 150 wells will be built to provide clean water to thousands of thirsty people in Africa !

What a joy to see confidence, devotion, ambition, caring, commitment, compassion, courage, dedication, determination, perseverance, sacrifice, teamwork, unity and vision in action !
